Tuesday Ten, Wednesday Style (Again)

1.) So the sticker chart was a hit. He was always excited about getting stars (stickers) and was super pumped when he filled up the whole thing!

Ever since we started it, he’d been asking to “go to Target and get the Talky Truck from Cars 2. Honestly, I have no clue where he finds out that these toys exist (maybe it’s the YouTube videos of Cars collectors lol) but he was set on wanting it.

Not gonna lie, I was a bit peeved he filled the thing up so fast (a week) and my mom had just gotten him a new Cars 2 toy on Sunday, but a promise is a promise, and he has been much better behaved since we started it so I had to follow through.

A few IG ladies requested a printable, so here you go! Just click on the picture to enlarge it, then right click and save it to your computer. It prints as an 8.5×11. Let me know if/how it works for your kiddo!

..which leads me to…

2.) Date night! Well “Mother-Son Date Knight”, which was put on by Chick Fil A. We met Marlee & her little man, Jett, there for dinner. They had the area darkened with candles, gave the moms a flower, the boys a balloon sword and a “shield” to color for their mom, and they even had a carriage ride in the parking lot with a Clydesdale! I was way impressed.

And as you may know, CFA is the one place where I know I can (almost) always get Jax to eat. He was kind of a grump when we first got there but he really enjoyed playing with Jett & by the time we left he had a permagrin on his face. :) (Probably because we were headed to TARGET! TO GET THE TALKY TRUCK!)

3.) I’m trying to make myself bust out the REAL camera more often. Being an Instagram addict and having a somewhat decent camera (in the way of cell phone cameras anyway) on my iPhone has made me take fewer pictures with my DSLR and I’m trying to remember that my littles will never ever again be as small as they are today, and I need to document every special moment I can.

Because I never want to forget these days.

I swear I don’t really edit her eyes, they’re just THAT blue.

4.) So teething SUCKS. I always thought people dramatized it into being more crappy than it is, but it turns out Jax just didn’t freak out about his teeth.

Jory has gotten 3 teeth in like 2-3 weeks (they’re taking ages to break through). This means she’s sleeping HORRIBLY, not eating well, which is so unlike her, and just generally wants to cry or shriek her face off if not being held. Good times!

5.) I feel like my milk supply is not great lately. I have never really pumped, so I don’t have a sure way of knowing. Jory is thinning out (I think that’s mainly because she’s trying to be on the move, scooting all over the place) and when I tried to pump the other night, I literally got 1/2 oz in 20 minutes. :(

I think I’m just going to up my water intake & try taking Fenugreek.

Has anyone tried that MotherLove tablet? Does it work? & please don’t suggest the Mother’s Milk tea. I don’t like tea, and especially not tea that tastes like that, lol.

6.) My in-laws are taking us to DISNEY!!! We’re going from like 6/21-6/30. or something like that anyway.

I’m so excited! Because I need a vacation like whoa, I can’t wait to see Jax experience it, and we haven’t all been together with their family since Christmas of 2010 when we announced our pregnancy! My in-laws have met Jory, but Trav wasn’t there, and I know he misses them all so much.

Jax keeps asking when he’s going to meet Mickey and Oso and McQueen! And I’m having my sweet cousin make some appliqued Mickey goodies for the kids to wear. :)

7.) I love my Scentsy warmer. However, I don’t love being hounded to buy stuff left and right. I have thought about selling Scentsy or Norwex or something of that sort, because I’m sure the extra cash & goodies are nice, but the main reason I couldn’t (aside from the whole I-don’t-have-time-for-anything-remotely-like-that thing) is that I would feel straight up rude asking friends to buy from me constantly. Because I’ve been offended more than once by vicious salespeople.

Like if you call me on the day that my dog died (which happens to be the week after I had a baby, so the hormones are a-ragin’) and you KNOW about my situation because we’re fb friends, and you ask if I want to host a Scentsy party for you? Yeah NO.

OR if you send me a card after having said baby and the card reads “as a gift to you, please enjoy 10% off your next order with me!” That isn’t a gift. You’re not giving me anything, you’re asking me to order from you and playing it off as a congratulations. Rude.

8.) I’m hosting a baby shower “sprinkle” here on Saturday, and I’m way too excited about it. I’m probably going to go over the top for a “sprinkle” but whatever every baby deserves a party! I’m really excited about it, and my sweet friend Rachel so deserves a little celebration!

9.) Penny sleeps with her eyes open. That’s of no consequence to anyone, but it’s way creepy.

10.) We had a craaazy busy weekend and I’ll update with pics from it soon, as soon as I get my camera back, that was left at my parents’!

And 11.) because why not…Jory is 9 months old. :( I KNOW. It’s flying! 9 month post coming soon also. :sigh: I just can’t catch up!

Try oatmeal for your milk supply! I like the cold oatmeal Greek yogurt concoctions…. but a bowl of oatmeal every day for a week and you’ll see an improvement….. I’ve never been able to get much when I pump…. but my kids always get plenty of milk

Breastfed babies usually then out when solids are started. Breastfed babies grow a lot in the beginning and then slow down a lot. I wouldn’t worry! My first two sons really went down in weight around 10 months. They were in the 90% and got down to the 10% by 12-13 months and they were fine! Moving and food is the cause! The boys are now in the 50% at age 2 1/2 and 4 1/2.

We Love to Hear From You
