Wednesday Ten

(What? Procrastination is an art, y’all.)

Today wasn’t awesome. I’ve had a hard time being patient with my babies and “furbaby” (notsomuch a fan of that term lol), especially after a night where I got less sleep than Jory did from her naps today. Yeah.

So this post will probably be ranty and maybe whiny, I’m sorry in advance.

1.) After getting so little sleep that my bones ached, I fumbled into the kitchen to pour Jax some milk. And then I dropped THE ENTIRE GALLON OF MILK ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR. And I cried, over spilled milk. Jax said “Mama I’m sorry you’re sad, it’s ok, it be alright”.

2.) Since you can see my day was off to a less than stellar start, I was flat out elated when Trav texted me at 2pm that the power was out at the office and he was heading home 3 hours early. Bright spot in my day.

Basically our favorite time of the day.

3.) I wish my customers (and really ALL customers of small businesses) would understand that I give preferential treatment to people who are kind to me.

I don’t think it’s asking too much for you to respect my time and respect me enough as a person to not say things like “LOLZ I think you can do better than that. Make ___ instead.” Demanding things from me? Makes me not want to do anything for you.

This may or may not have contributed to aforementioned crappy day.

4.) When Trav got home, he picked up Jory and was making kissy faces/noises at her and she started doing it back to him! I nearly died on the spot:

5.) Teething might be the least fun thing ever.

Jax was never such a huge mess when cutting teeth as Jory is. Her first tooth is taking forever to come in, with a second one waiting in the wings, and sister is MAD about 99% of the time.

Teething tablets + motrin + cold teethers do take the edge off, but only (very) temporarily.

Good thing she’s only got like 20 of those suckers left to go through. Goodness.

6.) Jax doesn’t have accidents anymore and by gone are the days of peeing on his train tracks (YAY.) The only accident he has had in the last few weeks was when he was playing while I put Jory down and he had to go pee and couldn’t unbutton his jeans. I came out and he was near tears and very apologetic, I felt so bad!

7.) Toddler boot camp. Is that a thing? It should be.

8.) Are puppy training classes expensive? Anyone been dumb enough to get a puppy with a toddler & baby in the house, like me?

I know Jax is a lot of the problem because he chases & nags Penny, which just eggs her on when she’s in one of her hyper moods. They go back and forth til they’re both riled up & running around (Jax squealing/screaming loudly) and Jory starts getting scared and crying and I feel like my head is going to explode.

9.) I’m attempting a sticker chart for Jax.

He LOVES going to Target and “pick a toy!”. But since money doesn’t grow on trees and our house is bursting at the seams with his toys, I’ve decided he’s going to have to start earning this treat. And not just by doing one nice thing, he’s gotta fill this thing up before he gets to “pick a toy!” again.

I’m thinking he may be too young for this, but I’ll post back with how well it works, crossing fingers.

10.) Did you enter my Willow House Door Bucket Giveaway yet? No? Get to it!

And a dose of Jory cuteness just because.

We are getting our puppy in four weeks. I know we are crazy but I figure it’s better to be crazy now, rather then later.

At least your puppy is small! DH convinced me to get a DOBERMAN when I was 2 months pregnant with # 2. Now we have an almost 1 year old dobie (who just happens to be taller than any dobie the vet, or anyone has ever seen), a 12 week old, and a 3 year old. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Our house is insane. Oh, and we have a 9 year old lab mix.

Trevin is geting his 2 year molars in….he is crabby, clingly, not sleeping well, tired, & not his usual happy self. Not so fun.

Your blog is such a breath of fresh air! I swear all I read all day (blogs/Facebook) is how AMAZING people’s kids are. So sweet, so well behaved, STTN at 2 days old, BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! Connor is the love of my life and a terror!! He deliberately does things just to aggravate me and I just can’t wrap my mind around why he likes to be in trouble. Mya is gorgeous and wonderful but she is also furious 75% of the time and is still waking up at least 5 times a night. And we have not 1, not 2, but THREE dogs to add to the mix (long story on how we got there with kids). My days are filled with noise, attitude, and gross, smelly things. Glad to know I’m not the only one in my shoes though! Hang in there mama! ;)

Um, we live parallel lives! Ok you have to move here so I have someone to have playdates with that understands why my house is so chaotic and crazy!

Try Petsmart for puppy training classes. They have a guarantee that if you’re not satisfied, you get to retake it for free. Also, Triple Crown, just about 5 min from our house, offers training. It’s really pretty there, all outdoors. Triple Crown offers a discount on their classes for dogs adopted from shelters, etc.

Sticker chart is adorable & a great idea. Another thing Jax might love being rewarded with is temporary tattoos…Hunter thinks his tattoos are the best thing in the world & you can get rolls of them for a few dollars. Keep up the great work I know you’re doing & hang in there.

We Love to Hear From You
