I'm just a bad blogger. :) I'm gonna blame it on the fact that I'm able to be out and about and I'm seriously taking advantage!
Of course, we've had some false alarms since I have been off bedrest...never a dull moment, I suppose.
Last Wednesday afternoon, after a day of shopping, I started having contractions so bad that some made me scream in pain, and I called my OB who sent me to L&D. My cervix hadn't changed, and I was given a morphine & phenergan injection and sent home. They said it could be early labor but was too soon to tell.
Then, on Sunday night I had contractions so bad that I literally didn't sleep at all...until 7am when I closed my eyes for about 25 minutes. I was crying in pain, they were super close together, but I just didn't want to go to L&D only to be sent home again.
I called my OB's office as soon as they opened yesterday to have them get me in earlier than my 11:30 appointment. At 9:30, I saw her, sat for a NST (good news is Jory's looking great and is handling the contractions just fine), and she checked me.
I was at 3-4cm and 100% effaced, which she said could mean I could go at anytime. Could be Monday afternoon, could be in a week or more, but she isn't super optimistic that I will make it through the week.
Needless to say, walking around dilated that much is anything but comfortable. I walk SO weird because of the baby head lodged in my pelvis, and these constant contractions are almost too much to bear. My OB gave me a prescription for pain meds, but I would really like to avoid taking narcotics while pregnant so I am just trying to deal with it.
At this point, we're all pretty sure she'd be just fine (ie NO NICU) if born now, given her size and the steroid injections, but I do think it would be awesome to make it to Saturday just to say I had a full term baby after all this preterm labor I have had!
Anyway, I'm getting crazy excited to meet my girl and see her sweet face. I just want to hold her in my arms and take her home with me, so whenever she comes, I just hope she's good and ready.
Weekday picture to come, soon I hope, I'm a slacker in that department as well!
