We’re alive & well, promise!

I try not to get down on myself when I miss posting some days…as Trav says to me “if you can count on one hand the number of days that you haven’t posted this year, I’d say you’re doing pretty dang good”. So I’ll pat myself on the back and be okay with taking the weekend off of blogging. :) I also got 2 emails from some super sweet readers who were concerned since they knew we’ve been sick and I hadn’t posted in a few days, when I usually post daily. That is so thoughtful, I seriously have the best readers, y’all!

I won’t go into details, but suffice to say that we had a scary turn of events and everyone is okay, but I didn’t feel like I had much to say this weekend, and I was seriously lacking in the picture-taking department. We went to my parents’ house for some quality family time.

Jax is totally in love with his Aunt JuJu, it’s adorable! We were shopping (Jax scored over 20 items of clothing this weekend between me and my sister BUT we didn’t break the bank and only ONE item was brand new…Once Upon A Child & Goodwill FTW, yet again. :)) and whenever Julie would leave our sight, Jax would say “ah JuJu?” So cute!! Here he is this afternoon giving her kisses…Jax is all snotty so this definitely wasn’t Julie’s idea, but who can turn down Jax kisses?!

He’s feeling better (as am I!) now but Friday he would still spike a 102 fever when he didn’t get motrin so his pedi called in an antibiotic, and it seems to be helping, at least with the fever. I guess it WASN’T viral after all.
Sidenote: When we pay full price, out-of-pocket for all doctor visits, and I bring him in only to hear “Oh you’re doing Vick’s Baby Rub, humidifier, motrin/tylenol and steamy showers? That’s about all you can do since it’s viral, keep it up!” and that’s the only solution they offer? I get a little stabby. Especially when we have to endure 4 more days of sicktoddlerness before they decide to try an antibiotic.

I went through the same thing last week with my oldest. he coughed through the night 10 DAYS IN A ROW. and 2 trips to the ped. We have to pay full price also. They told me it was allergies and drainage making him cough and to do claritin. then cough med. Neither worked. the last time I went in there I wasn’t leaving with out an ab!!!

We always, always, always get a CBC when Zachary is sick. We have had bad luck with not getting an antibiotic for things, or getting it at the wrong time. Ugh. Better safe than sorry. Hope you guys feel better!
