Hello to all. This is Travis, better known around these parts as Daa, Cheech, or a colorful variety of other names.
Those of you who are devout followers of The Paro Post, or anyone who can scroll through a couple of pages, know that I’ve never made an entry on our blog. It’s not that I don’t like the whole idea of blogs/blogging, or that I’ve been scared to write something knowing it would be out there for the whole world to read. I’ve just never had the urge to express anything out loud. And even if I did have something in our lives to write about, I couldn’t even begin to share it with you in the way Becca does in her posts. I myself, read her entries every morning at the start of my work day, taking an outsider’s perspective looking into our lives. She’s always been a great writer (I know from college, lol) and her photography skills are getting better each day.
Even though it’s called the PARO post and includes all of our family, I’ve always relied on her to post entries, until now.
Followers of old and those who are new can see that my wife has been going through some rough times as of late. Times I believe no one can really understand unless they have a degree in the field or have had their own similar experience. This, I think, is the hardest part for me. Although I can clearly see she is not the same person she once was, and will be again, it’s difficult not really being able make it go away. No matter how many kisses and hugs I give out, dishes I wash, or loads of laundry I do, this thing still seems to hang around. Even something as simple as occupying Jax so she can have some alone time will help. It seems to be a natural occurrence in life that many women go through, even causing loved ones to worry. And it can be frustrating.
Like I mentioned earlier, my wife WILL return to the colorful, fun, blonde, southern belle she once was (and always will be in my heart). It will just take a little time. She/we definitely have been through some rough and trying time times in our lives, and have managed to not let them slow us down.
And while we are all waiting, I thought I might do something else for her and update our post. It may not be the most extravagant thing in the world to do, but it is one less thing for her to worry about right now.
Well, enough on the subject. I might share some feelings again later on down the road.
Other than helping my friend Aaron this morning with his landscaping business, we really didn’t have much planned. I wanted to try and get all of the odds and ends that needed to be put away and hung up done, which I planned to do while Jax was napping. Like I said, we didn’t have much planned.
We were up pretty late watching a movie last night (yes, someone convinced me to watch Valentine’s Day) so needless to say, I wasn’t up on time to help Aaron. That pretty much threw my whole day off, lol.
I worked until a little after lunch time, while Becca and Jax hung out at the house during the morning. He had been fed and was ready for his nap by the time I got home. While Jax napped I was able to get some things cleaned up in the garage (long way to go there) and hung up a couple pictures after he woke up. I ran to the store for some hamburger buns and we enjoyed cooking on the grill, once again. MAJOR kudos to both our parents for that awesome gift!!!
Here is a shot of Jax from earlier this morning. Even though I am his dad, I can’t help but say that he is pretty dang cute!
I’m sure Becca will be back posting tomorrow, but like I said earlier, I’ll still try to give my two cents every once in a while.
Lastly, I’d like to thank all of our family and followers for making The Paro Post what is it today, and for all of your words of encouragement Becca, myself, and our family.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
